Man and Van Salisbury - Our Terms and Conditions

By confirming a booking with Man and Van Salisbury you are acknowledging your agreement with the following terms and conditions.


By Using Our Services You are accepting are TERM & CONDITIONS -

Hourly Rates -You will be charged for the full time that you use our service.

Quotes / Changes in item numbers  - You may incur extra charges if the actual amount of items on the day exceeds the amount of items that were included in your quote, a couple of boxes more would not normally cause an issue, however if you have under-estimated your items by more than this our man will add on an extra charge (usually between £10 - £40) depending on the amount of items and time taken to load them. If you have grossly under-estimated or have been misleading about the amount of articles you have, we have the right to refuse assistance on the day.


Payment Requirements - You may pay by debit / Credit card or by cash to the driver on the day, Card payments will incur an admin fee charge of 2.5 % of the full payment due, we would require that you tell us in advance that you wish to pay by card on the day, otherwise a cash payment must be made on completion.  If you are paying by cash, you should make sure that you have the cash ready in advance as cash point visits and waiting times are chargeable.

Parking & Vehicle Access - Providing parking is the responsibility of the customer, if there are restrictions eg: yellow lines, red routes, residents only etc you must provide a permit from the local council if this is not possible , please be honest and say where the closest legal parking is available eg: 50 yards, 100 yards etc... this may cost a little more but it is much better for you and our man if we know in advance, if parking is legal try to reserve a space for the van outside before it arrives or call the local council and get a suspension or permit where necessary) if there is no parking pre -arranged any parking fines received will be the responsibility of the customer and must be paid by the customer on completion, however our man will not park illegally and our man may have to leave if legal parking is not provided.

We would need to be informed if the vehicle would need to travel up any ramps, tracks or if there are any overhanging trees, bushes that could damage the vehicle.


Unforeseen Circumstances -We reserve the right to add extra costs due to unforeseen circumstances (eg: waiting for keys or gaining entry, incorrect addresses, removal of windows and so on).

Your Responsibilities -

*It is the customers responsibility to ensure their goods will fit in the van. (The van has a loading space of 600 cubic feet / 16.990 square metres)                                                                                                                                                                                                          *cubic foot is a unit of volume, it is the size of a cube that is 1 foot on a side - *A cubic metre, is a unit of volume. It is the size of a cube that is 1 metre on a side).

*We accept no responsibility for damage or breakage to items that have not been packed by us.  

*It is the customers responsibility to dismantle any unit / system / flat pack furniture and beds, and to ensure that wardrobes, chests of drawers, cupboards etc are empty ready for moving, this should be done before our arrival,

*Weight of a single box should not exceed 20kg, Boxes must be packed closed where possible.

*Sheet glass and mirrors must be packed into a secure crate and protected, we will do our best to load and unload glass items and protect them while in transit, but, we hold no responsibility for breakages of these items if they are not crated.

*It is the customers responsibility to wrap or protect mattresses, sofas, or any upholstered furnishings. (we only wrap or cover furniture once the furniture is loaded onto the van)

*Tvs, computer screens, gaming equipment or any other electronic box /device etc, should be boxed, ready for transportation. 

*We need to be made aware of any liquids or delicate / Fragile items that have been boxed.

*White Goods / Electronic Items - We hold no responsibility for items that fail to work once transported, unless there is visible damage caused by us.

*It is the customers responsibility to ensure goods will fit in the van.


Awkward Access - It is the customers responsibility to ensure that items will fit in the new premises (eg: size of sofa and size of aperture) Our man will not be insured to remove doors or windows in such cases and it is up to the customer to organise a specialist if needed.You will incur extra charges if you have not informed us of awkward access. Awkward access can include, no vehicle access, no parking available in close proximity to the property and cramped stair and hallway conditions where large items of furniture such as sofas will not fit, more than one doorway and corridor to pass through, having to go through rear access over court yards etc.

Floor protection -  It is the customers responsibility to lay down protective floor covers inside the property to protect carpets, flooring etc, from getting dirty or damaged in the process of moving to or from a property,



Congestion & Toll Charges
- There will be an extra charge of £14.00 when passing through the London Congestion Charge Zone, other congestion charge zones and tolls will be charged accordingly. (Unless otherwise stated)


Arrival / Delivery Times / Cancellations - Our Man will do his best to arrive within the time scale stated, however arrival times are estimated. 
Delays to pick-up/delivery times are sometimes unavoidable (due to traffic accidents, weather and in the unlikely event of a vehicle breakdown).
We do not accept any responsibility for any customer losses due to unforeseen or out of our control delivery/pick-up delays or cancellations. If due to unforeseen circumstances we do have to cancel your removal we will try to give at least 48 hours notice where possible.



Postponement or Cancellation - If you postpone or cancel after your booking is confirmed you will lose your deposit and 50% of the confirmed quote. If you postpone or cancel within 48 hours of the date of the job you will be charged the value of the job in full. We reserve the right to cancel or change dates and times.



Insurance -  Goods in Transit - We are insured up to £10000.00, if you need any further cover for the moving of your items, contact your home insurance company and get appropriate insurance cover. Our insurance covers goods in transit only, it will not coverany damage to your property or your goods unless in transit (in the van) in line with the terms of our insurers underwriters, the first £250.00 Excess charge of any claim is the customers responsibility and will be required in advance to initiate the claim process with our insurance company.

Staff Abuse - Verbal or threatening behavior will not be tolerated. 
If our man is forced to leave the job because of abuse from the customer verbal or otherwise the customer will still be liable to pay in full.


Our GDPR Policy

As a commitment towards the privacy of our customers and website visitors we have put in place, for all to see, our privacy policy. The details included are also inline with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) European Law 25 May 2018.

General Aspects
All data that we receive and store from our customers or visitors to our website (hereby referred to as ‘you’) is done so for the sole purpose of helping you with the specific enquiry you made. Under no circumstances will we pass on this data to a third party.

Our email accounts use SSL so any email we receive is also secure on our part. To ensure full security you should also make sure that you are sending from your computer securely

Your right to be forgotten
We have in place IT systems that allow us to quickly identify and remove any data held about you, should you wish to be forgotten by us. This is inline with the GDPR ‘right to be forgotten’ and we will comply within the EU specified 1 month period.
